Guangzhou Zhengjia Hotel

First impressions weren't the best as the taxi dropped me off at the entrance. The exterior of the building was a bit worn, but inside it was a bit more charming. The room was spacious and the bathtub, although small for a 6'3" guy like me was a nice touch. Translation apps are a must as most of the staff speak no English. That made asking for direction or recommendations for things to do a bit of a challenge. Breakfast was on offer, but when we got to the room where it was being served the selection consisted of some steamed breads, a noodle dish, a soup , some fruits and very little else. The room also consisted of 3 round ~8 seater tables. Tonghe metro station is only 5-10 minute walk and on the way to the station there is a host of street vendors night and day selling all sorts, from street food to shoes to mobile phone chargers and all are open to a bit of haggling. P.S. if you want your linens changed, there is a sign on one of the bedside tables which you should leave on top of your bed which we only found 4 days into our stay😱😱😱. In conclusion good value for money.
