Excellent amenities and service. Spacious room and comfortable bed, superb breakfast buffet, pleasant swimming pool. Good location, in old Xiguan area. Highly recommended.

I have been staying at Voco Guangzhou for a few years now. It is truly one of the best 5-star hotels in the traditional old town of Guangzhou, where historic Cantonese vibes blend perfectly with the city's modern, vibrant, and chic energy. Located in Xiguan—the western part of the old city—the hotel is surrounded by legendary Cantonese restaurants like Tao Tao Ju, which dates back to the 1800s. A major highlight of the hotel is the weekend dinner buffet (available Friday through Sunday). In my opinion, it is one of the best in Guangzhou, offering the most reasonable prices without compromising on quality. The Cantonese selection is exceptional; some must-try items include the traditional roasted goose, suckling pig, and white cut chicken ("virgin chicken"). They also offer live cooking stations for made-to-order lamb racks, steaks, and fish, alongside a fantastic variety of fresh seafood. Another massive highlight is the restaurant service team, led by Alice Zhu. Alice is a wonderful, warm, and welcoming person who always goes the extra mile. She is incredibly passionate about food and makes it her personal mission to ensure every guest enjoys the finest dining experience. Thanks to Alice and her team, the service is flawless, and the food feels as comforting as a home-cooked meal. My sincere thanks to Alice Zhu, her team, and the entire Voco Guangzhou catering department for making this such a wonderful place to eat and relax!

honestly couldn’t fault a thing. The staff were absolutely 5* from start to finish — so welcoming, friendly, and always happy to help. I don’t want to name just one person because every single member of staff was A+++. The hotel location is spot on, perfect for exploring guanzhou and the rooms were always spotless, clean, and comfortable. Amazing stay and I can’t praise the team enough. Would definitely stay again and highly recommend to anyone visiting China
