Ibis Guangzhou GDD Hotel

I love ibis in Soul and Hong Kong, thus i decide to give a try for this hotel. Let me go with the good: Room is spacious Has a small sofa Big mirror near the door USB port on bed side Here is the terrible : -I book from a agent website, upon my check in I ask for paying extra to upgrade the room to next category, the reception advised me to cancel the original agent booking(she will allow me to cancel when agent call to hotel), and book direct with hotel immediately with joining their membership. I will then received a low price, free upgrade, and free breakfast. If this is the deal, why not. So I have decided to take this offer. On next day I was told I can only use one breakfast, 2nd person need to pay. Why would I only join one person breakfast if I'm 2 people check-in? I start to check my bill, the bill now is even expensive then the original booking I made from the agent. I ask the same reception whom check me in that why I could add the extra charge to the original booking, ask my friend in room 435 did this upon check-in. She said when I arrived, no my pay upgrade room quota, but if I use book direct and join members, they can upgrade me. I think this is kind of cheating, I know how the industry work, I know why hotel want guest book direct from hotel. But all this unclear explanation and paying more then original booking + supplement for upgrade is not good. - the room is simple, no mini bar, batg gel and shampoo is the same. - no international adaptor.... Definately no for foreigners. - no face towers, there is a sign saying we need to go to laundry room to pick up ourselves. - there is stair just outside the window, so many propel talking outside. -Taxi can't come in to the hotel entrance, only drop off 200m outside as area blocked for private car. - only 2 soft pillow.

This is an old property, very cheap, has a good breakfast, and the staff is very friendly and helpful , specially the manager the only person who can speak English. Taxi fare to the Canton Fair and train or bus station will cost 100 RMB. There is a Mcdonalds, 7 eleven and a KFC 15 minutes walk from there.

Ms vicky made our stay worthwhile. She went out of her way to attend to our needs throughout our stay and even beyond checkout time. The hotel itself, though physically distant from the metro network, is located in a quaint neighborhood thats pleasant to walk around in.
