Staff are very friendly at reception, that’s about as good as it gets 😝 in room - shower leaks all over the floor as there is broken seal on the shower door so it’s like a skate rink when u exit and you have to mop up the floor with towels . There are buckets and black bags along the corridors to collect leaking water . There are no spa services . Pool looks lovely - you must wear a swim cap which they do not sell so I didn’t get to try . The WiFi does not work in your room if you do not have a Chinese phone number to verify and you have to go to lobby to get very slow connection - no good at all if you need to work from your room .

At first, I was impressed by the good reviews of the transportation here, so I arranged the meeting here, and the accommodation, catering and meeting of the team were all arranged here. At the beginning, the contact was a girl, and later the sales manager, Guoriyan, was replaced. The experience was very bad. Because of the Canton Fair, he might not have to worry about customers. After we paid the deposit, he did not play any coordinating role at all, but asked us to do a lot of things ourselves. Here are a few excessive problems: 1. The housing arrangements for the team were all done by us. He almost missed all the updated information and asked us to remind him repeatedly until the last minute. There were still errors, and he asked us to handle the form and input it by ourselves. 2. For the catering connection, he recommended a manager, Licuiwei, who was on vacation during the meeting. He could not do anything at all. He only showed up once in the early stage and could not be found. 3. When we asked to change him twice as the person in charge, he actually explicitly asked us to change hotels or change the contact person? It is this kind of service that has overturned my concept of a five-star hotel. Manager Guo has left a very deep impression on me. I admire his courage. It is probably because the Canton Fair has no shortage of customers. After receiving the deposit from the customers, the company can request to cancel the contract within one hour before the actual event. I believe that no one wants to encounter such service. I post this in the hope that everyone can avoid it.

I had two days of work in Panyu and Shunde, otherwise i would have stayed more centrally. I arrived very late and the check in was smooth and swift - no bleary eyed staff glued to their phones. The room was large and the bed very comfortable. I paid about RMB 460 a night which i thought was a good price for what i got. The Spa is well worth a visit for a post intercontinental flight sleep inducing massage. There is a useful 711 just around the corner for the obligatory ice cream. The metro to get into Guangzhou and to the airport is very close and very easy - it took 1 hour to go from the hotel to the airport and I was able to explore new areas of this great city using Panyu as a base
