Longhu Shantou

This was the first hotel we stayed in our recent travel to Chaoshan and Xiamen. We were lucky to stay at the new annex building (an extension from the old building) and the building seemed very new and nice. And we were given the room on the highest floor, level 8, facing the public square where we could enjoy the locals dancing in the evening! Our room was spacious, cleam, bright and cosy and we did sleep well throughout our stay here as beds were comfortable. Huge TV and the bathroom was big too, especially the bathtub that was so deep and long! Super cool! The TV was smart TV and it was a little difficult how to operate it initially without the instruction manual which later we mastered ourselves. And if they could provide a TV Programme listing, that would be great as we had to tune and search for the channel, one by one, for the one we would like to watch. Room service was well done too and everything was replenished and cleaned professionally. As for the breakfast, the spread was quite big and satisfactory, international and local dishes. But they didn't rotate the menu and everyday was the same food and spread and so after the 2nd day, you will feel kind of "again the same food". Service staff was friendly and helpful! And within 200-300m of the hotel, there were lots of eateries, convenience stores, bakeries, supermarkets and if you walked a little further, there's a night street market where you can get to taste local street food, buying tidbits, clothings etc. Very convenient. We enjoyed our stay here!

its a so called Chinese four star hotel. its filthy smelly and run down the bed is harder then the carpet floor which is stained and filthy. only one person at the concierge speaks english the rest don't speak any english at all. the shower reminded me of 1980. no pressure no hot water.

Spend 2 nights with family in this hotel. Can't expect too much in a area that's abit way behind other parts of China. We used the laundry service and hand in our laundry early in the morning. But when we return in the evening we did not find it in our room. Need to remind them we are leaving the day after and please bring it back before we check out. And was surprised that they ask us to pay cash once housekeeping hand over our laundry.
