Bossfield Hotel

Stayed hear when on a factory visit. It's located in Bao'An and close to the subway. Don't take a taxi back into Shenzhen as it's painful, take the subway. Hotel is classic Chinese but very cheap. Breakfast, despite what other westerners have written, was good. Good mix of Asian and Western. Staff have very limited English. Rooms were basic but clean, all have a smell of smoke as, in my experience, the Chinese have little regard for rules when it concerns smoking. You can't blame the hotel for its patrons but I wish someone would tell the Chinese to be a little more considerate in corridors... they like to shout... at 2am.. at 4am... at whatever time of day. They don't care. They also like to party and leave their door open with a TV on loud, talk loud and smoke. This is a generalisation of course, but it is a common experience.

Very clean and efficient facility. They have excellent food and will also create American standard fare if you are homesick and need it. The staff is helpful and friendly to all guests. Easy walk to parks, local cultural events and retail. Also very easy to rail service for business. The KTV entertainment area was good for business entertainment so I didn't have to travel to entertain my factory partners.

I stayed in thus hotel for 14 nights. The staff are friendy but their english is very basic. Never tried the restaurant but did have breakfast a few times where they don't offer European except for a badly cooked omelet! The rooms are ok, but after staying in a lot of hotels in China, I think its over priced at 570RMB but you can haggle them down and I achieved 470RMB (£47) /night which IMHO I think is still a bit high which I would rate 3 star! The rooms have wifi of reasonable speed, don't recall tairing my hair out over dropped service like other hotels in China. Some rooms are quite big with a sitting area the bathroom was a bit grubby. Xi'ian has a farly large town centre with good quality shops which is only about 5min walking dudtance. The train stops about 5min walk from hotel.
