Grand Holiday Hotel

Friendly efficient front desk staff, cleaning staff nice 4 of 5, room was 8 out 10 clean, needs new carpets, lamp shades, sprucing up. Room has a full size comfortable bed. A grand shining entrance w/ taxi waiting at the road, 5 elevators although a little slow, never had to wait. Nice city view from our room 1513. CCTV, some English TV~ national geographic, MTV, BBC World news, sports. A 7/11 a joins the lobby. A few noodle shops, restaurants and KFC within 10 min walk to the subway. Cost is above the quality, up front cost included cover on mini bar and other "bedroom" amenities refunded on check out. 2 charge h2os, 2 complimentary h2os, look for the $ tags. Air conditioner only recycled the air, could be that it was February, still sunny, humid and 78f outside. AC would have been nice.One operating window, screwed closed. Kept the bathroom fan on. Seems like a safe area.

We were there for an expo on april 2014. Absolutelly not a 4 star hotel and eventually not even 3 stars. The hotel is very dirty, moquette in the rooms are not clean and soaked with a smell of food. The entire room, even if smooking is not allowed stink of cigarettes, which are also for sale inside the room itself. The toilett was very dirty and unconfortable. There is no continental breakfast, only chinese food, wich is fine, but not for breakfast. Nobody inside the hotel speak english, comunication is almost impossible. We had to use google translator even for calling a taxi!!!! There is no wi-fi available only cable, therefore your mobile phones are useless. seriously I do not reccomend this hotel!

During my business trip in Shenzhen i chose this hotel. If i haven't paid in advance i would not stay there. The room was dirty but i think this is a problem with all the Chinese non 5* hotels. Maybe they have different way of thinking about cleaning. The air condition is only for cold so the room was like a refrigerator, i didn't eat the breakfast because it was very bad, the windows of the room were sealed, and in order to get a proper shower you shouldn't be tall... The worst thing was that some people of the stuff were promoting some kind of "masaz" in order of course to get a commission.
