Shanghai Hotel

Been there for five days, nothing to blame. Good place, room clean, cleaned every day, everything you need to eat in your room (including toothbrush, towels, slippers, etc., no iron only). The staff are friendly, helping me answer my questions. The location is very good. By the way, one of the oldest hotels in Shenzhen, the locals also speak well of it. The number for four stars is a little small, but otherwise its four stars deserve all.

The hotel is very central and an MRT line is outside the door of the hotel called Huaqing Road. The staff are super friendly and some have a little English. There is also a Bank of China across the road if you require cash from the ATM. The staff in there were also really helpful and a Bank official came outside to show me how to work the ATM which is in Chinese (obviously). There is also a Mc Donalds (Mc Cafe) close by as well which serves excellent coffee I might add. The Hotel accepted my Mastercard, however you will need to tell your Bank before travelling. Revolut does not work in China. REPEAT REVOLUT WILL NOT WORK IN CHINA. My Revolut card got frozen and became unfrozen on returning to HKG. There is a mini bar in the room with fridge, kettle and would you believe Nescafe Gold Blend in little sachets. Breakfast is included and they even have corn flakes with a wide choice of traditional Chinese offerings which may not appeal to non Chinese. All in all this Hotel is perfectly clean.

I had a two night stay on a business trip and enjoyed the facilities. The room was a good size, the shower was large and the bed was particularly comfortable. Food was also perfectly fine with plenty on offer to suit most tastes for both breakfast and evening meal. The downside is that the decor is certainly looking dated and in need of some updating. Having said that, if you can see beyond this then everything workedas it should and cleaning was to a high standard.
