Shenzhen Luohu Hotel

Great location, Renaissance Shenzhen Luohu is located near Luohu Port, Shenzhen Railway Station and Shenzhen Dongmen Old Street. From there, it takes just 10 minutes to reach the Luohu Port and Railway Station and 5 minutes to reach Dongmen Old Street. With its excellent location and excellent service quality, it became my preferred hotel for future visits to Shenzhen and Hong Kong. Very enjoyable stay. The service was exceptionally comforting. Every staff member was warm, polite, and efficient. The check-in process was smooth, and all my daily requests were promptly addressed with natural and friendly Of particular note is the service of the Executive Lounge Staff, Ms Yulia. She is very friendly, efficient in handling my check in process. The hotel's rooms are modernly decorated for a comfortable stay. The breakfast buffet served is rich in variety and quality. We stayed here for two days and loved & enjoyed it! Although an older building, it was clean and well kept. The staff is amazing! We had the wonderful breakfast buffet every morning with great service and food. Thank you to the Café Mangers, who made the special orders! Delicious and kind. We also had the executive lounge with incredible service. Special thanks to Mr Clinton Wu, Duty Manager for his Professional, Efficient & Friendly services to fulfil our wishes, taking care of our room during our stay & making us feel special and looked after. As a Titanium elite member of Marriott, I expected a smooth and friendly experience, but my recent stay was pretty disappointing. I didn’t get any welcome greetings or details about my benefits when I checked in. Even though I booked a Club Premier King room with lounge access, I wasn't really told what was included. An automated message falsely said my room was upgraded; in reality, I was given the original room. It felt like a scam, assuming most guests wouldn’t notice. When I talked to the staff at check-in, I was upgraded to an Executive King Suite, but it made me lose trust and confidence in this hotel. It’s frustrating to see the industry still rely on old-school methods that seem insincere and not caring. The worst part was the room's cleanliness: hair, dust, fibers, and shredded paper on the floor, which clearly showed it wasn't cleaned properly. I showed this to the duty manager, who made flimsy excuses about high customer volume and cleaning shortages. That’s unacceptable—especially since I got the upgrade notification at 10:15am, meaning the room was ready, but I only checked in at 3:15pm., leaving plenty of time for cleaning. This has been the worst Marriott experience I've had in China, and surprisingly, it happened in Shenzhen. The air conditioning doesn’t work well, and can you believe I’m still sweating inside? The technician fixed it, but only a bit. It's better than nothing, but the building’s old and only renovated in 2019, now showing signs of wear and tear, with maintenance not up to scratch. I’d strongly suggest skipping this hotel—it’s just not worth your money or your time. I did not try the lounge and cannot comment on it. Breakfast was at the Food Studio restaurant, where the food was fresh and offered a good variety. I also visited the 50th floor of Sky Paradise for a buffet, and the food quality was excellent with an impressive diversity. The restaurant staff are well-trained, welcoming, and provide good service. However, the reception and housekeeping departments must undergo additional training to deliver higher-quality customer service and satisfaction.

We had a couple of days in Shenzhen as part of a longer stay in Hong Kong - since it is only an MTR ride away. As such, we wanted to book somewhere a little more luxurious as it was only one night and the Renaissance hotel fit the bill. The location was actually spot on - very short walk from the closest MTR station and even closer still to the Dongmen pedestrian street - for ALL of your street food needs! This is a MUST when visiting. The atmosphere was high end from the moment you walk into the lobby. We were in the area just before CNY and the place was decked out with decorations and looked fantastic. The staff were very friendly indeed and spoke excellent English. They were very accommodating too and offered a late check out for free without us even asking. The room itself was MASSIVE - huge bed, large sofa area, TV bigger than the one at home, huge wardrobe and clothes storage area and the bathroom was awesome! A huge freestanding tub, a large dedicated shower room and a fancy toilet which washes and dries you as well as having a heated seat. Immaculately presented and clean and whisper quiet in the rooms, all for a very reasonable price indeed. In terms of amenities, we didn't use much as we were only there for a day - but breakfast was tip top! Huge amount of options available so every taste will be catered too and the quality was as you would expect for a hotel of this nature. If you are looking to treat yourself a bit, then stay here. Highly recommended.
