Golden Comfort Hotel Zhuhai

Smack right in the center of shops and a nearby passenger street filled with shops. You want food and shops? This is the hotel to stay. Rooms may look run down but I booked a deluxe room and it was BIG. Queen bed very comfortable. Huge toilet. All for SGD50 a night. Hard to beat.

This is my first time to Zhuhai and I'm happy to stay at the hotel for 4 nights even though it is not fancy but fits the cheap price and convenience to Lian hua Rd where lots of food to eat and shop. Easy to locate the hotel as it is on the main street. Initially I was thinking to book at Charming hotel near to the border, but after further research, I find it is more convenience to book at Golden Comfort hotel as it is in the middle of all shops and suits me as I love to eat and it is near to big shopping complexes 2 minutes away at Yuehai Middle Road. This road looks like Orchard Rd in Singapore though not as great as Singapore but consider reasonably good in this country. I stayed on the very top floor (8th floor) and my room has free cable internet access, speed is very fast. Don't use their toiletry accessories as you have to pay. Luckily they have 2 free bottles of water but make sure you grab the smaller size and not the bigger size bottle as this one will need to pay. The room is spacious, not as cramp as HK and it also has safe. The carpet may have some stains but overall with the cheap price of less than AUD $40 per night near to Christmas season, it is consider reasonably cheap.

background - went over to zhuhai for a short weekend trip with my bf review good location - it is very well located. right at the entrance to lian hua road (night market place) and 8 mins drive from the gong bei immigration point. it is also very near the main shopping locations in zhuhai. during the night, there's bbq stalls that will set up shop outside the hotel. alright room - the room is relatively big and clean. you have to pay for amenities such as tooth brush and shaver (only 9rmb), so if you're lazy to bring your own, just use it and pay up when you check out. - the beds were really very soft (too soft for my liking) and the bathroom and showering facility is made up of frosted glass. not recommended for travellers who are uncomfortable bathing in semi viewable situations. -okay service - the staff mainly understands mandarin and cantonese. i havent tried to speak to them in english, but i think, they should understand simple english. overall: had a great trip (eating and shopping) but not a good rest (bed too soft). the hotel was ideally location and the need to cab about was kept to a minimal. notes eating at bbq - there are beggers all around who will disturb you while you're having your meal. please do not give them money.
