Nanyang Seascape Hotel

Good location with market nearby, the staff are very friendly and helpful, the room is cleaned and tidy with good amenities set up and good views from 12th floor. The breakfast not really good. Plz improve the breakfast.

We stayed at the Nanyang Seascape over Dragon Boat Festival weekend in June 2019. We’re a couple from the USA, temporarily in Shenzhen, China and decided to come to Zhuhai for the weekend. The Nanyang Seascape met our needs for our two night stay at a good price. The location is very nice, close to the waterfront, the Macau crossing and the center of the Gongbei district. The staff was also very nice, although very little English is spoken. When we checked in there was one manager who spoke a little English, when we checked out there was no one but we worked it out through our phone translators. The lobby has a nice, slightly faded elegance to it, and during our stay the pool was in working order and was a wonderful getaway from the heat and humidity in the late afternoon. The room was generally good, but not without some issues. We had asked for a non-smoking room and we’re assigned to the 11th floor, noting later that the 12th floor is the only floor designated as “non-smoking”. At first our room seemed smoke free, but that evening we did note a mustiness and very faint remnant of cigarette smoke—it may have come as much from the hallway as the room. Not a real bother, but something to be aware of. The bed was comfortable and the shower was huge with rain and handheld shower heads. We set the A/C on at 22 the first night, but it struggled to get the temp down to to 25, ditto the second night when we set it on 21 and the fan to “high”. The buffet breakfast was good but the western choices were pretty limited. That said, I did fine with eggs, toast, sausage, something resembling a crepe and fresh fruit, plus tea and coffee (I don’t drink coffee so can’t comment on the quality, but it was there.) This isn’t a high end hotel, but is a good quality place for a short visit, and a good value for the price.

No facilities or pool gym sauna etc. They are not telling people this before making a reservation. I found out when I got to my room. There was a crumpled paper saying pool etc unavailable see photo. No one on arrival to carry luggage from taxi or to the room. No mention at check in about facilities just have to pay 500 yuan deposit for 1 night. No welcome drink on probably the hottest day this year. Room poor shower sprayed water out of cubicle into bathroom. Mattress old and soft not supportive. Could not find light switch to turn off lights and had to phone for instructions it is all done by remote control handset. Lack of information again. Breakfast ok for Chinese nothing for me is tomatoes beans mushroom sausages cereals etc. Very much DIY no service at all. I asked for my money back which is a first for me having stayed in many Chinese hotels in the past 10 years. No English spoken and a really bad experience all round. Maybe they just don't want foreigners to stay here. Advertised as 4/5 star but that too wrong. Only 2 at best in my opinion. Avoid this place .
