Bamboo House Resort

This was right in the middle of town, so great during the day for finding tons of food options, but was right beside all of the loud bars at night, so hard to sleep (it was loud until about 1/2am). Staff customer service was ok, maybe would have treated us with more respect if we spoke Chinese and were Chinese tourists (we were Westerners) so didn't really cater to us. I would recommend that folks stay a bit more outside of town, tucked by the Li River. There are more quiet places (just check if near cafes so you can have coffee and food). Laundry service was expensive. We definitely found a box of condoms and sex supplies in the room, if that says anything about the type of clientele that stay there.

The hotelroom was ok, but we did not really thrust the staff because they made us pay extra for their daytrips (they said prices just went up). Later we also noticed that the mountainbikes we rent at the hotel were very expensive compared to the normal prices for locals. We feel that you should be able to thrust your own hotel to give you a fair price but this was not the case. The hotel is in the middle of the city center. Our room was at the front side of the hotel and there was a lot of noise in the evening.

Bamboo House Resort was perfect for what we are looking for. We wanted to stay close to West Street but not "on" West Street. It was an easy walk there while being a little more 'tucked' away than being on that party street. We still get to go visit all the shops and restaurants without being too far and the noise level was a lot less than if we had stayed on West. The room we booked was also perfect for us. Though it is on the 4th floor without elevator, if you are ok climbing the stairs, it's really nice to wake up in the morning and see sunrising over rooftops of Yangshuo. The bed was comfortable and the big tub was nice as well. We were doing so much hiking before coming to Yangshuo, this was a perfect relaxation room for us. We rented a couple of bikes from the hotel (the bikes were in ok condition, not great lol) and biked to the nearby Fuli town for their market day. The trip was quite nice (make sure you know or ask for directions). We also spent time just walking the streets (including the famous West Street) around the hotel. The staff was very nice, friendly, and helpful. The laundry service was also very convenient and good value. We'd recommend staying at Bamboo House Resort.
