Longji Star-Wish Resort

Just so serene and picturesque. Its like having your own log cabin. The room was nicely different and the bathroom a little small, but you are way up in the mountains and it all feels just right. The staff here are wonderful and very helpful and it just has a really good feel about the place. A great place to base yourself in when doing the walks and exploring the rice fields. Take your camera. The views are awesome. Breakfast was basic but befitting the surroundings and the coffee will knock you over. Great place and would recommend to anyone.

The bedroom was like a cabin with wood panelling. The room smelt damp, which was not surprising as I suspect the building gets little sunshine. Our bathroom had an odd toilet arrangement. We had to go into shower and pull the curtain aside then sit with our feet in the shower area. Very friendly owner. Good wifi in the dining room. Breakfast was filling. Pity the views have been built out by illegal new buildings.

This hotel was quaint and the absolute perfect setting. We only stayed one night, having to bring just an overnight bag as the only way to get to the hotel is walking (we were told a "gentle walk" which isn't quite how I would describe it, however well worth it. You can pay to be carried on a sedan chair I think it is about AUD40, you can also pay for someone to carry your bag. I so wish we could have stayed longer, the whole area is so beautiful and peaceful, the views are to die for. The hotel itself is quite small, the beds though were very hard. Unfortunately due to an illegal building, (they are currently trying to get it pulled down) we had no view from our bedroom window, the staff are very helpful and even have free wifi. We found a brilliant little cafe just down the steps called Daniels, he had the best coffee I have tasted in years, he knew exactly what I wanted (being a very fussy coffee drinker) I was stunned, and went there quite a few times - he also had the best gin and tonics, Highly recommend a visit here. If we ever return, will definitely stay here again for more than one night.
