Good time everyone!
The entire holiday at Holiday Inn Resort Sanya Bay 5 wanted to write a review, but I am writing on my flight home. Checked in on June 27. No deposit was taken, arrived at 7 a.m., checked in at 12.00 p.m.
❶ Room: pros and cons
Pros:
The room has almost everything. Umbrella, disposable slippers, 3 bathrobes (2 adults, 1 children), rubber slippers also three, beach accessories. Shampoo, hair balm, toothbrushes with paste, razor machines. The bed is changed every 3 days. The room is good, I know what rooms are – I've visited a lot of hotels, so I can appreciate: decent.
Cons:
Don't look under the bed and move the nightstands - there's dust and cobwebs. Nobody cleans up for centuries.
❷ Meals
Breakfast is very varied: soups, dumplings, eggs, all kinds of omelets. For children - nuggets, fries, porridge of several kinds. From hot - chicken stewed with vegetables, broccoli, baked and boiled vegetables, raw leaves, tomatoes. Overall breakfast is more than decent.
Lunch is not great, nothing special.
Dinner is good, big. There are seafood: fish, oysters, mussels, crab, etc. Unlikeable meat - beef is very delicious, pork, ribs. Wine and beer without restrictions. By tea, the sweets are not super-diverse, but delicious, more than enough.
For those who do not have dinner included, you can buy it for 158 yuan per person from a hotel guide.
❸ Location and transport
We are far enough from the city — for us it is rather a plus, quiet and without fuss. I installed Alipay and use a taxi. It's all we drive everywhere.
Taxis are very cheap by the standards of our metropolis:
· 20 minutes to the outlet (which, by the way, absolutely disliked) - 37 yuan (~×12).
· 45 minutes to Buddha - 65 yuan.
Ordering through Didi, not catching on the street. If you take annoying taxi drivers, it's worth twice as much for sure.
❹ Territory and basin
The grounds are small, not to say very beautiful, but quite neat.
The pool is not very small, but shallow. Not bad for kids. Rescuers sit around the perimeter, watching and whistling if you don't like it. Water is flushed and washed regularly – I have often observed this process.
❺ For children: entertainment and inventory
The hotel has a lot for children - both free and paid.
Free of charge:
· handcuffs for swimming,
· circles (there are many, you can take them freely).
The hotel building itself is also full of entertainment:
· rock climber,
· go-karting,
· 3D glasses,
· can ride a motorcycle 3D and a car.
Paid for:
there are additional games – some machines and rides for a fee. But even a free base for kids will last.

❻ The Sea
When we arrived, the weather was sunny, the water temperature was ≤28–30°C – very warm. We were happy, we didn't leave the water.
But since July 3, the typhoon has passed, after which they do not officially allow in the water. However, we Russians are not deterred. Personally, we bathed, we didn't go deep, but we jumped the waves for two weeks.
❼ RESCUERS – separate and main downside
There's a Chinese man sitting in our hotel on a chair who can't swim. And yet he walks around with a mouthpiece whistling at people, kicking them out of the water.
A huge question for the hotel: why not hire professionals? Like they do in Bali or Phuket, rescuers work even with the rip current. And here are just guys in pants and with umbrellas (themselves afraid of getting burned) who sometimes run and mostly sit, play, dig up crabs. Thanks for running sometimes.
❽ Beach
Plus one is fine sand.
Minus a billion or more!
People call them sand fleas, but in fact it is a small sand fly. And it's a disaster, for me personally. I'm back home, and I'm not wearing a living space.
The first week was tolerable — a few bites, we hardly came out of the sea. But after the typhoon, a holiday in the sand turned into a nightmare!
❾ Conclusion.
Overall, the hotel is not bad, worthy of Chinese stars. But yes, there is better.
We took a free tour of the tea house. When we were being promoted for tea, there was a great phrase: “China is a country of forgeries.” And I fully agree with our interpreter. Treat it accordingly.
An "A" is probably a decent grade for China, but it's actually a five-star fake.

The Holiday Inn on the Chinese island of Hainan is quiet in the hot season not only because it is family-friendly, but also because the sea is across the road - someone is there. Or because of the numerous children's areas under air conditioners. You can see the entire hotel on YouTube by typing "Holiday Inn Resort. Inspection of the entire hotel area on Sanya Bay. Let's go together".
We first encountered go-karting in hotels. It is free, like many things in entertainment and recreation areas. It is easier to remember the paid ones - cars in the pool, hydromotors for the pool, attractions and some slot machines. A room with the smell of cats and the animals themselves))
The hotel is full during dinner or breakfast in the restaurant. And in the evening by the pool, when the heat subsides. In May it is +30 degrees here - air and water, in the pool and in the sea. And day and night!
The fact that the water is drained from the children's pools every day seems to be true. Maybe not every day, but we've seen it a couple of times. We didn't see any changing rooms, and the toilet by the pool is hidden - many people run into the hotel premises, but it's not far.
There are a lot of inflatables for swimming by the pool, and after lunch they take a container with buckets and shovels to the beach for playing with sand. There are not many places to go around the hotel. Our room had a kitchen. The channel where the video with a tour of the entire territory will soon have a video about the room. And about the food. Breakfasts at the Voyage restaurant were varied, but the same every day - watch "Breakfast at the Holiday Inn Resort Sanya Bay".
We had lunch once at Savor - it was poor. Voyage didn't offer lunch either. But dinners could be had either at Savor - also poor, or for an additional fee at Voyage. And it was worth it. Let's not say that it was directly because of the seafood. most of them were prepared in the traditions of Chinese cuisine that we don't understand. Just a rich dinner - that's what this paid service is called.
Overall, the hotel corresponds to 5 stars.

I don't understand the rave reviews of this hotel.
Food:
If food ran out, it just wouldn't be updated. Of the 2 hours of lunch, half the time could stand empty plates with popular items (fruit, pizza, fries). There were lunches and dinners where they would run out of ketchup early and everyone would eat without it. Requests to replenish the range were ignored.
They rested for 15 days: every day the food was the same. About 10% changed, but also how it changed: one day the rolls were with raw carrots and the next with sausages, for example (I'm not kidding).
Cleaning:
Don't call it cleaning. It took five minutes: taking out the garbage, cleaning the floor, changing linens and towels. I've never seen such a quick clean-up).
There are no carpets in the room, so after cleaning the floor remained wet for a long time. The floor itself is very cold. Lived on the ground floor. Walked around in slippers, everything stuck to my feet.
The daughter dropped the toy and we had the pleasure of seeing a bed space with years of dust deposits.
Pool:
The main swimming pool was closed during recreation. Less than 24 hours notice was given. Our whole vacation was a kiddie pool with slides.
What did we fall for?
For children's leisure, of course.
Of the hotels the agent suggested, this was the biggest entertainment area. After communicating with other tourists it turned out that there are options much more interesting.
Here's the judge: half a million rubles is worth such a holiday or not.
I'm not the travel agents who are here touting this hotel, but a tourist.
