This is the hotel we used for our two nights in Sanya which was arranged by the tour company. Overall I would describe it as adequate for the price we paid.
Its a simple hotel at a relatively convienient location in middle of Sanya City right opposite to Sanya River. Directly opposite the hotel is a mall with a supermarket and a few eateries including McDs. The city tram rides right in front of the hotel and taxis are easily hailed from this location.
The rooms are adequate and comes with individual air conditioning units. Toilets are simple. TV is available with local channels. I would describe it as adequate and in line with the price we pay in Sanya.
Breakfast option is available at the restsurant on level 1. Breafast is very simple. I would not recommed if you were to pay extra for it. Eggs are restricted to on per person. It maybe be better to just walk out a bit and have breakfast at any nearby eatery. There is even noodle shop at the hotel lobby itself that opens for breakfast.
The hotel does have an outdoor pool which can be nice for the kids. There is also a convenience store that is open quite late.
Overall, a relatively good budget hotel that meets its intent of a place to sleep after a long day out.

Two star property within walking distance to shopping, food and the beach.
Do not expect four star service here. Staff are disorganized but accommodating. Little English is spoken. However, workers try their best and, if you are looking for budget lodging, you will be just fine here.
Beds are comfortable by Chinese standards and do not feel as if you are sleeping on a table. Sheets and towels, while by no means new, are well-laundered. The in-room television is old but does offer one English language news channel. In-room furniture is even older but is sturdy and in good condition. There was ample hot water and water pressure was strong enough to take a shower and the air conditioner worked as it should
The unheated swimming pool is a little difficult to get in and out of as there are only ladders for entry and exit but the pool is clean and the water temperature is certainly warm enough to swim. Although advertised, there is no gym.
Breakfast is lackluster but included in room rental rates at no additional cost. Hardboiled eggs are limited to one per person. Boiling water is complimentary but coffee and tea is not available. There is a large supermarket just steps away from the hotel where many Western products are sold, including coffee, which was not available in the breakfast room. Restaurant food is good enough and that just about sums up my experience in this hotel.
WiFi is complimentary and reliable, though slow. For a quarter of the price of what I would have paid at a five star hotel, I have no complaints.

Booked through www.ctrip.com, which listed it as a "4 star" in Sanya bay.
1. Hotel is about a 10 minute walk to the ocean through a "not very pretty" part of town.
2. The "bay view" is rather obstructed by the gigantic buildings surrounding the hotel.
3. The "free breakfast" is a breakfast voucher of 15 RMB per person which gives you the basic breakfast of 4 bao zi (bread dumplings) and a bowl of rice mush. Not the greatest.
4. Beds were typical Chinese style. Hard.
5. Staff does not speak english, with the exception of one person who is not there full time. They had to call him if we questions.
6. Trash and fruit peelings are all over the side walks and clutter the bushes and hedges.
7. Ctrip listed a salon and western style food, neither of which we ever found.
In conclusion, I would suggest spending a little extra money on a cheaper hotel in Da Dong Hai. It will be WAY worth it.
