We were in Hainan for the first time and during our holiday we stayed in 2 hotels: first Sunshine Intime and then here in Ascott. So the review will be compared. * Location and features So the hotel is located in a quiet and more upscale part of the bay, let's say. On the one hand, it's a plus: quiet. There's no sound coming from the waterfront and no traffic under the hotel. Here the rest felt more elite. But on the other hand, you can't just run out to get fruit or a snack in a cafe. As such, there is no infrastructure nearby. * Beach Pen is 15 minutes down the waterfront. Nothing at all, but walking back is exhausting enough. Also, due to the distance from the beach, we had to plan ahead where else we will go after swimming, so as not to waste time on returning to the room (let's say that you have to bring a change of clothes to eat at the same time, while in the city). Intime was around, and it was still much easier and more convenient. It's not Ascott's downside, it's just a feature of it. We wanted to try living both by the sea and in the distance. And they realized that the second option wasn't great. * Hotel experience The hotel is modern, stylish, minimalist. It's expensive. There are pleasant smells everywhere, smiling and good-natured staff. But compared to Intime, the hotel seemed to have no soul. You're constantly smiling defiantly, you hardly meet any guests, somehow everything is so quiet and empty, which is strange. Out of fun - the settlement offered a game: if you refuse to clean any of the days - get special chips. And then you can get gifts for them. The chips are like poker, and the gift area is also designed in the style of a casino. We just haven't figured out exactly what "no cleaning" means. Towels were changed, garbage was taken out. Cool photo areas are made on the property. * Room Features In the rooms, just to turn the lights on/off, you hang out in front of a scattering of identical switches, then you have to figure out where to press. Or the overkill method. Two air-conditioning boards on the wall: we never figured out what everyone was responsible for. But the main downside is that the air conditioner blows directly onto the bed. And you can't control the airflow. That made sleeping with the air conditioning on was not an option. I had to turn it off at night. It didn't sleep very well. Balcony - to get there, you have to climb through the curtains. It was extremely uncomfortable every time. There are 2 chairs and a table on the balcony. That's awesome! Sitting with a cup of coffee or a glass in the evening is a good thing. * Food Breakfast is from 7:30 to 11:00. It starts later. Since Intime from 7. You've got time to come to the sea before. There's no such thing yet. And here it turns out that breakfasts are later and walk longer to the beach. Eventually you get to the beach by 9. We liked the food, we had a lot to choose from. But in the same Intime, there was more choice. * Total Overall, the hotel is nice. If there was nothing to compare it to, it would be all the more so. But still the position close to the sea was more convenient for us, and some Intime vibrancy and simplicity more to our liking than the cold modernity of Ascot.

They rested in late February and early March. The hotel is part of a large resort complex, so guests can walk freely in the picturesque area of all hotels in the chain. Ascott itself is located a 15-minute walk from the centre and a 7-minute leisurely walk to the beach. About the hotel: 4️€/5️€ Pool The choice of the hotel was largely determined by the pictures of the chic swimming pool on the site - expectations were fully met. The pool is large, deep, with clean water, available for swimming until late evening, always on duty by a lifeguard. However, the pool is unheated. Because it is surrounded by tall hotel buildings, the water in February-March was very cold and uncomfortable for swimming. I'll also note a small number of sunbeds. 3️₣/5️₣ Breakfast Breakfasts are not varied, but you will not be left hungry. The main focus is on Chinese cuisine, due to the predominance of Asian tourists in the hotel. There were very few Russian-speaking guests. 5️⃣/5️⃣ Rooms Rooms are standard, but clean and cozy. Cleaning was done daily, and it felt like the staff was trying. There were no restrictions on drinking water - several bottles were always left in the room. Our window had beautiful sea and mountain views. 4★★★★★★★ Staff and service The hotel has no permanent Russian or English speaking staff. There is a guide who works for several hotels, so it was difficult to find him in Ascott, but he was always on the phone. Overall impression The hotel is new and modern. It was nice being in the rooms. But there are the subjective flaws I have described above. Excursions They used Zoe's services (a small shop in the Winter Summer shopping mall). Visited the park "Yanoda": the nature is beautiful, but be prepared for long walks. We went independently to the Guanyin statue - highly recommended. Also visited Xiaodonghai Bay and Yalongbei Beach. All the places are incredibly picturesque.

Great hotel. There are all necessary appliances, beautiful views (room with sea view), panoramic windows. The beach and shops are 10-20 min on foot, and you can take a taxi. Daily cleaning. Breakfast buffet, very nice. Quiet street, but close by.
