New Beacon New Times International

New Beacon New Times International Hotel is conveniently located in Wuhan, Wuchang area, and aims to be an intercontinental standard hotel. However - be careful when you select rooms: double-floor suits are EXTREMELY unconvenient. There is a kitchenette and saloon on th efirst floor, but no place to put any luggage or hang a wet coat. Everything must be carried upstares by narrow staircase. In fact I quitted, moved aside a table and placed suitcase there. But do not know for what I have paid so much money???......

Overall I was not impressed by this hotel. There is one floor that is non smoking, and by that the rooms are supposed to be non smoking, but there are ashtrays in the hallways and people seem to smoke everywhere. We had to be moved out our first room due to the smoke smell. In addition the room had stains on the carpet and the couch. It was really run down. Our second did not smell of smoke, but it also was run down. Bathroom was extremely small, with the only mirror being a small magnified one on the wall. Don't expect to go to the gym, even though they say they have one. The gym consists of a room with a few very old machines and no ventilation. The strangest part (more than the 20 year old equipment) is there are chairs and a table with ashtrays in the gym, so it stinks again of smoke. I couldn't work out there. The breakfast buffet was ample, with a lot of choices. Very few of the associates spoke English. It really wasn't an international hotel per the name. I called down to ask for water and no one understood me. If you are not with anyone that speaks Chinese, it will be a problem communicating here. In summary, I think there are probably better choices in Wuhan for your stay.

It is named a 4 star hotel as RMB458 per night. But the service it provide is not up to standard. When we booked a commerical double room, obviously we have two people to check in. They only offer one complimentary breakfast while normal rate is RMB58. The most funny thing is that when we go to get the breakfast, they already written the necessary bill for extra person as dollar value. They know all must pay for the 2nd person. I thought, if they want to charge, why don't they just not offer both people FOC? Also for the commerical room, telephone call still need money and the so called computer, the network make me wonder if they are still using 56K system.
