Ping Hu Hotel

We stopped off here for lunch, it's a nice hotel obviously aimed at conferences and businesses with lots of deprecate areas and individual dining rooms. The food was pretty standard, but all ok but unmemorable, the best thing said was that the service was efficient..

This is a huge restaurant over two floors in a very impressive hotel. We had a private room for the 18 people in our tour group which was beautifully decorated. The food provided was excellent with 11 separate different dishes plus the obligatory bucket of rice. Just when we thought we'd finished another two dishes arrived before the fruit dish signalling the end of the meal.

Don't expect luxury, but rooms are adequate and clean. The shower was hot and gushing, and after a day of touring, it is exactly what is needed. The beds are typically Chinese (not plush, one pillow) with clean, smooth sheets. There is a large Chinese breakfast buffet, without coffee or western foods, but the fruits and vegetables were plentiful. American tour groups use this hotel but usually eat as a group, and not in the hotel's Chinese restaurant where we ate. We had a great meal of noodles in soup with vegetables, potato balls and delicious snow peas. Look for the very large Buddhist ceramic guardian of the restaurant on a table as you enter.
