Howard Johnson Parkview Plaza Erdos

This is a 5-star hotel. We checked in the hotel at about 7 pm after our visit to the Wulanhada Volcano Geopark. The hotel is a green hotel and the hotel management switched off the aircon at night. The reason is because the temperature at Ordos and other Inner Mongolian cities cool significantly after sunset, so hotels assume guests won’t need strong cooling. I opened the window slightly and in fact I had a good sleep. There is a shopping mall opposite the hotel called Ordos Outlets Mall (奥特莱斯购物中心). Our tour guide told us that it is a large discount shopping complex featuring branded goods at reduced prices. We went to have a look but the discount was not that fascinating. The breakfast provided at the hotel was rich in varieties. I like the dim sum which included Chinese yam, carrot and pumpkin. I also like the Eight Treasure and millet Porridge and the plain yogurt. Overall, the hotel is a bit of old but reputable. Breakfast is enriching.

It's hard to find a hotel in China that is both centralised, room with no smoking smell, upmarket, reasonable priced and providing good service. This must be one. Room was well kept, both functional and well maintained (extremely hard to find in China even for 5 star hotels). Breakfast was decent but not outstanding. This hotel sets a standard for others to beat, especially in a smaller city like Erdos.

Top quality hotel in the outskirts of Ordos in Dongsheng district. Nice rooms and facilities, large gym and spa. Rooms have flat screen TV, wi-fi, minibar, etc. Bathrooms have large tubs, separate shower, new fixtures. Breakfast included with large selection of Chinese and Western choices. Dinner buffet also offers large selection of dishes. The 2nd floor restaurant offers private dining rooms and a-la-carte choices.
