International Conference Hotel of Nanjing

I stayed in this hotel, room 2203, for 2 nights. I was quickly checked in and in my room. The wifi worked well in my room but not outside such as in the restaurant or lobby. The room was very comfortable comprising a bedroom and lounge. The lounge had a separate WC. Each room had a large TV. In the lounge there was coffee/tea/kettle, room safe, bottled water, desk, comfortable chairs, ironing board and iron. The large bed was firm. Storage space was plentiful. The air conditioning was quiet and worked efficiently. The room also was very quiet. The bathroom had little bottles for shampoo, body wash and conditioner. There was a small body lotion container and paper tissues. Supplied and replenished daily were toothbrush/paste, razer, etc. Towels were soft and replaced daily. Water was always hot and plentiful. The shower was separate from the WC. The WC was a high tech type with automatic lid raising and lowering, washing/drying, etc! At times it seemed to have a mind of its own. The bath was standalone with a drying line that could be extended to allow wet washing to drip into the bath. There was a small gym. The hotel is in lovely country surroundings. Sadly it rained whilst I was there so I could not take the opportunity to get fresh air and exercise. I did not have breakfast.

The facilities are beautiful and the food is very good. There is a wonderful coffee bar in the lobby and gift shops as well as a medical clinic. Service was great at times and extremely slow at times. Overall, it is a nice place to stay but my main complaint is the room was extremely hot. They advertise “central heat and air conditioning” but once the heat is switched on for the season, the AC will not work! It was about 26-27 degrees Celsius and the room was miserable to sleep in. We did talk them into letting us open the windows (a temporary relief) but the smog was so bad that it would choke you out of the room.

Located in the Zhongshang mountain area, it is purely for conference purposes. Lush green ambience, just ok breakfast for veg lovers, hardly English speaking staff, big rooms, clean are some of the features. Overall good place with many historical places nearby. Bit away from the city center, but you can get taxi.
