Jin'S Inn (Xin Jie Kou) Hotel

cheap hotel, and you get what you pay for. Not much luxury, however a european toilet, a shower, and running airco does the trick! who sleeps at night anyway? i'll chose this place if i ever do go back...

If you're looking for a hotel to lay your weary head after a lot of sightseeing and want to be in a central location, this place is for you. If you want some comforts like English cable TV, you're looking at the wrong hotel.

We stayed 4 nights here and found it to be pretty good. The location was great, 5 min walk from the nearest metro (Xinjiekou) and right in the centre of town. There is a convenience store around the corner if you need any supplies but it's also close to shopping centres which have good restaurants upstairs. For take-away outlets, you will find them in the underground. It's like a mini-city down there - very easy to get lost. There is also a Starbucks just outside the station, we preferred to have breakfast here than in the hotel. The room was spacious and clean and was serviced daily. It came with TV, air-conditioning and a kettle. The wifi signal was good but not great. The beds were fairly hard but once you get into a comfortable position, it's OK. We did hear a lot of door slamming though, there's a knack to closing the door once you're outside the room. So if you're a light sleeper, wear some ear plugs. The staff were nice but their English is basic. So if you need information on ongoing travel, maps, etc, go to the Jinling Hotel across the road (entrance is around the corner from the station). They spoke perfect English and arranged our train tickets for us on the spot. Overall, it was a good budget hotel.
