Genway International Hotel Suzhou

I have stayed at the Genway for many weeks over 3 years. I arrive 12 hours jet-lagged and everything I need is available. Although the external appearance is not glitzy, the interior décor is quiet, refined, spacious, and while modern carries the unmistakable beauty of classical China. I especially like the peaceful inner courtyard with its fountain and bar service. I've spent many quiet hours there. The rooms are spacious and well appointed (fridge, mini-bar, iron, umbrella, etc.) and the services a traveler needs are available (laundry/dry cleaning, expedited service, etc.). the beds are sumptuous as is the breakfast buffet of Asian and Western choices. Nearby are the quick services and shopping centers that meet travelers needs. The service is impeccable.

I found this hotel Ok but not more than that... In January all common spaces are very cold including the well "smoked" bar and the dull restaurant! The room was very clean but had a strong smell of smoke. The breakfast was very good if you can accept a Chinese style buffet with noodles and rice!!! Very enjoyable indeed!

the room is nice and clean. breakfast is great, plenty to choose from. one elevator is malfunctioning (beware). receptionists were nice but English is a problem. the location is a bit boring. but overall all the experience is good.
