Gusu Jin Jiang Tower

Hotel characterized by huge rooms and a spacious bathroom equipped with both a large shower and a bathtub. The upper floors, reaching up to the 25th, offer a beautiful panoramic view of the city. The facility offers various bars and a paid laundry service. Breakfast varies, although it is almost entirely focused on local cuisine with very few Western options. The staff at the reception is friendly, but unfortunately, no one speaks English, so it is advisable to have a translation app handy. Overall, a comfortable stay with cozy beds and good sleep quality.

Living up to the name of the hotel, the staff were graceful and helpful in their manner. The room was very clean, comfortable and well-appointed. I was on the 21st floor, with good views of the city. Suzhou is known for its bridges crossing water. Hairy crab is a freshwater crustacean and a prized local delicacy, but not one I prized for my tastes.

Given that I've stayed in some real hovels, and that tour promised 5 star hotels, this please was a real disappointment. I thought it was just an oversight, that my room was not clean. But then I looked at some of the other rooms and they were just as dirty--grease marks, obviously no vacuuming for a while. If you want a clean room, stay far away from this place.
