Ramada Encore Hotel

Hotel on 7 floors , modern , with restaurant , fitness , leaving the hotel one of the streets is not very pleasant but there is another better street leading to a main street with many premises , friendly staff , environment and clean room , breakfast with good assortment of products . I recommend it

A month in Wuxi staying at the Ramada/Marriot New courtyard. I am writing this after staying for one week at the Ramada. I feel it is long enough to get the feel at least for the hotel. The hotel is the tallest building in the area and is very pleasent to look at. It features 3 restuarants (Chinese/Japanese/Western..Cafe style). Staff are all very polite and good natured and speak pretty good English. The hotel is what you would expect (very grand entrance, polite staff. etc.) from a 3/4 star hotel. The restuarants are all very nice and do a wide selection of dishes. One down point to the Ramamda is the quality of the beds. if you are used to sleeping on a wooden board then you will like the beds in the hotel. I asked for a different room with a more comfortable bed but unfortunately ALL the beds in the hotel were hard. The staff tried to make it a little more comfortable by putting a quilt (thin) under neathe the sheet. I am typing here with a stiff back/neck. The food in the restuarants is of a high quality but the meat can include bones/fat/grisle etc. or indeed all of the above. some of the dishes are of very reasonable quality/price and others are expensive considering you are in China.
