June Hotel Changchun

Stayed there for a business trip. A very average hotel in Changchun. The hotel is poorly managed. Stayed there in May/June and the weather was hot for quite a few days. However, the AC was not working. When I asked the front desk, they told me that it not summer yet so the AC was not turned on. Some staff are nice and hardworking but the people at front desk are not friendly at all. Not recommended.

I stayed in this hotel while participating in a competition in Changchun. The rooms of this hotel were pretty spacious but it was really dirty, especially the toilet. The worst thing about this hotel was that in every corner of it there was a smell of cigarettes which I hated. However, I think that it is still value for its cheap price (388 RMB/night without discount).

I stayed here on business while at Jilin University. The hotel is very convenient for the university. This is almost its only good point. The room looked like an amazing suite, but the bed was beyond hard (basically a wooden board) the shower was ineffective, the hotel was clad in scaffolding, and building work was going on all night long just two floors above my room - endless drilling and banging. The breakfast buffet was very poor - almost inedible (and I am reasonably adventurous with chinese food - even at breakfast). Part of the ceiling had fallen down in the middle of the lobby and a bucket was left there catching leaking water throughout our stay. Chinese staff sat round at desks in the lobby looking bored and doing almost nothing all day. Fundamentally, this hotel is aimed at chinese visitors, not westerners. This sounds like the hotel from hell - so what gave it two stars?? The food in the evenings was excellent on two occasions. The teppanyaki style dining was fun and high quality, and the banqueting room was spectacular (as was the food provided in it). In short, consider eating there with colleagues after doing business at Jilin University, but then get a taxi and stay somewhere nicer.
