Airport Land

No need to call a cab unless you’ve got a ton of luggage. You can walk to the airport in five minutes. The staff seemed nice and the food in the restaurant was better than I expected. The rest was an awful mess. There is no signage on the front of the hotel. It looks like there used to be, but it’s gone. From the outside it might be a government building, which is about what it looks like on the inside, too. Functional. The building appears quite old and in need of serious refurbishment. The rooms are dusty, carpet has hair and other refuse from previous guests, the windows haven’t been cleaned in ages, the bathroom fixtures are rusting, the carpet and furniture is worn, the wifi is as slow as it used to be in the days of dial-up modems (when you can manage to establish a stable connection), you can smell smoke from the room next door – truly a pathetic hotel property. Would never again stay here even if you paid me.

I paid 260rmb for the room here as I had a flight at 8:20 the next morning and it is a fair distance from Shenyang centre. Hotel is 15 minutes walk from the airport, just literally follow the road as you come out, go round the curve and then it's on your right. Unless you have a lot of baggage it is a dead easy walk, not sure how much the shuttle is but it really isn't necessary. Room was ok, big but very dated. Was suprised I had my own Wifi router in the room, considering booking.com advertises it with no Wifi. There is Wifi all through the hotel too. Fittings and fixtures were dated but this was just a bed to me so I wasn't too bothered, and checked out at 5:30am. There is a small store downstairs with fairly reasonable prices, if not walk to the airport and there's a Burger King and other food areas to eat.

I arrived at 10.30 pm from Shanghai and contacted hotel to get a room. They said to wait at airport for them to come and collect me. I waited 2 hours and no one arrived. I tried calling them back,but couldnot get an answer.So I sat on my bag in the dark outside the airport when it closed at 2.30am, until 5.00am when the airport opened again!!!
