Jianguo Xian

In our trip and stay in 4 hotels, this was the best interior and breakfast room. We stayed only one night but wished had one more night to experience swimming pool and spa area. Breakfast was very tasty and good selection. Also enough space for all guests as we experienced this to be a problem in other places as many groups were having their breakfast at the same time.

Nice upmarket hotel not too far from the centre. Room was comfortable and well equipped. I had a balcony overlooking an inner courtyard and water feature. Breakfast offers a good selection of western and Chinese options. Staff tend not to interact with you unless you approach them directly and only one or two on the main desk have a good grasp of English. I used the express laundry and everything was returned ahead of time. I was travelling with a group and we found beer in the BBQ area just outside the hotel reception cheaper than in house. There is a basic shop inside the hotel but it is quite expensive.

It is located in the center of the city, next to the Metro and many restaurants. Excellent outdoor bar with good coffee for the Chinese data. The breakfast was full - possibly the best we had in China. The rooms are fine, clean and quiet. Conclusion: Although it shows its age, it is recommended without reservations!
