The hotel was centrally located. Within walking distance to bell tower and drum tower and metro station. The receptionist and all staff were friendly and helpful and always seen with a smile on their face. There is also a travel desk at the ground floor of the hotel so you can book any last min tour at the hotel. The only negative point is the hotel room is slightly dated, but the location and service more than make up for it. Highly recommend hotel especially for first time traveller to Xi'an.

Excellent hotel, especially given its brilliant location in the walled city (with views of the Drum Tower) and its very reasonable prices. So reasonable in fact that we splashed out on a corner suite (which cost under $100/night) and got the best one on the top floor! One star deduction for the fact that when we entered our suite, it smelled heavily of cigarette smoke (this seemed to improve after we left a window open and used the A/C, although it is possible that we just got used to it after a couple of days…) The hotel has another few quirks: Going up in the glass lift, the corridors look like floors in a prison ward. The layout of our suite (not surprising given its strange triangular shape) was a bit peculiar, with the bathroom behind the bedroom. The area, being part of the walled city, is very lively and noisy until at least 1am and I’d hate to think what the noise level would have been on any of the lower floors. The breakfast room felt a bit “plasticky” and we didn’t come across anybody with even basic English language skills at reception. Having said all that, we really enjoyed our stay. The suite had all mod cons and we actually liked its slightly strange shape and great view. The location, in walking distance of the Drum Tower and Muslim Quarter, couldn’t have been better. The breakfast buffet was perfectly adequate. Would happily stay again.

A very good hotel, very centrally located . Good room. It’s a bit quirky with a curtain separating the bathroom instead of a door which was a bit odd but we did know before we arrived. Breakfast was ok, lots of local dishes , some western. Very helpful staff on reception . The roof bar wasn’t open which was a bit of a shame . Overall though it suited us perfectly. Within walking distance of the city walls where bicycle hire was easy and fun to cycle all the way round.
