It’s probably most convenient if you are on a budget and visiting the Petroleum University which is right next door and there are plenty of choices for restaurants across fro University entrance. If you want a higher grade hotel, the Sheraton is a block away but double the price.

I stayed here for one night. The room was very large but not very clean. Stains on carpet and furniture, dust on doors .... At the least the bed was clean. Although I requested a non smoking room, there was a faint sense of smoke smellable in the room. This could also be due to smoking persons on the hallways. There is no deposit box in the room. An interesting approach is, that in every room there were items on sale: Food and drinks, socks, slippers and many other things. Breakfast was surprisingly bad. The restaurant is very large but had the charme of a factory floor. There was a wide selection of food available but the quality was very low. Flies were flying around the food and sitting on it. Overall, there are worse places to stay in China...

This is a solid hotel for business or travel. It is fairly old and worn, but has all the necessary services. It is very good proximity to the University as well as other Huangdao Economic & Technical Development district locations, and is reasonably close to the sea. There are signs of water damage and the rug and trim was in pretty poor condition.
