Causeway Bay Hotel

This is the hotel I always stay at during my several trips to Weihai each year. As a repeat customer, the service I receive is very good. I always ask for extra pillows and blankets, and a fan in the summer as the room can get warm during the day when you take your room key with you and the AC turns off. Sometimes the English at the front desk is a little lacking, especially in the late hours but I always get it worked out. The recreational services in the Hotel are quite good and can be easily enjoyed, but are more suited to the solo and business travelers. There is a good breakfast, but I have to say that it gets a little boring after a week of the same things. For this American that is conditioned to the softer beds in our hotels, these are quite hard. While the Hotel is always clean, the degree of clean will depend upon the maids cleaning your room, and as in anything else, some do a better job than others. The Hotel has recently been spruced up with fresh paint and general updating, not extensive, but enough to notice. I will agree with another reviewer that the lighting in the rooms is a bit dim but the bathrooms are brightly lighted. Across the street is a great shopping mall, KFC, Coffee Shop, HUGE Grocery Store, and much more. Also, many buses and taxis are right out front so you will never have a problem getting transportation to wherever you want to go.

This Causeway hotel is a typical Chinese hotel but in a good location in Weihai. It's on the main street with a shopping centre and KFC directly across the road. The pricing at Rmb488 for a standard room seems high when comparing the standard and quality of the room but even so the room was clean and offered a very large and comfortable bed (not the usual wooden plank and hard beds I usually get in a Chinese hotel). As usual it offered a KTV and foot massage that resulted in the hotel being packed even on the Sunday night when I stayed. The breakfast was typically Chinese but it had good coffee, fresh milk, cereal and toast for the mere single foreigner. Overall a comfortable single night stay.
