Fengjing Huating Business Hotel

Don't expect too much from this hotel as it is pretty old. Stayed here one night in September as part of a tour and it did not leave a very good impression. Aircon is switched on via a dial, not the digital kind. Blew warm air in the beginning, after 3 hours the air was a little cooler but not by much. Slept without a blanket but still perspired during the night. Basic amenities provided: shampoo, soap, bar soap, toothbrush, comb, shower cap, towels, room slippers. What was not provided: bathrobe, fridge. There were also black ants on the bathroom floor, which could have crawled in from anywhere. Shower stall leaked water out which made the floor slippery, so had to be careful.

The Fengjing is in serious need of refurbishment. We had a spacious room but it needed a complete refurbishment as did the whole hotel. The staff were pleasant enough and professional, but none seemed to be able to speak much English. We didn't try the restaurant. There doesn't seem to be much on offer in Zibo with respect to quality hotels. We did have lunch one day at the Blue Horizon and that gave a better impression. It might be the best option in Zibo but don't have particularly high expectations. Hopefully this will all change soon as Zibo has a population of 4.2M and appears to be redeveloping quickly. Surely some decent hotels will emerge.
