The hotel is located in a good position, close to the subway and within a nice area. The room was quite comfortable, with a large bed, a desk and a private bathroom. The breakfast was served just next to the hotel, using a voucher provided by the hotel. The receptionists were all very kind, even if not exeptional in English. Price very competitive, giving the high Shanghai average.

What kind of impression would you get from a hotel room with no space to put your luggage and business cards offering “extra” services being slid under the door ?! In terms of room size, it was spacious but there was neither a cupboard nor space to put up and open the luggage. Only option was a writing table but it was made out of glass… not a safe option to place heavy luggage. Requested for a baggage rack on 2 occasions… first time, they claimed not to have it. The next day, I showed a picture of their rooms with a rack from their website, only to be told that it's just a picture but they do not provide racks. I told her that they should not use it for advertising if there no such facilities. When I returned to my room that evening, the rack suddenly appeared. It should have been a standard item provided for every room in the first place; instead of having the patron request for the use of one. On top of that, every night, there will be someone who will slide business cards under the door offering "late night services". The drainage system needs checking as the water gets clogged up after every shower and it takes some time to flow away. Metro station is nearby with an abundance of restaurants and coffee places too.

Pros - The subway station (Shanghai Stadium, Line 4) under the Shopping Mall across the street is quite convenient for transportation in the city. There are several scenic spots for leisure walks after work and three or four shopping malls around with food courts. No worry as to dining and transportation, time can be utilised efficiently. The price to stay is very economical for business trips. Cons - Most staff at Front Desk are not that friendly, which restrains the services the hotel can provide. The reasonable requests may not be responded or solved; The condition of the room is still acceptable but the furniture and equipment (lights, faucet, showering, water pressure, etc...) can be improved. I wonder if house cleaning reports to facility management for repairing/replacing malfunction ones; As the room is not that big, room layout should be re-designed for better movements. Desk in the current direction blocks the walkway without sufficient lighting while the bed having too much light resource; The building close to another makes privacy concern. With the curtain on whole day long limits the natural light entrance.
