Ouman Leiden

This hotel is in a very poor area with no amenities. It is a bout 20 minute walk to the subway. You have to cross roads where cross walks and lights are not observed by vehicles. There is a smell on the street described as vomit. The staff were nice but do not speak any english for basic communication and one didnt even understand Chinese writing when I showed her my translation book. The toilet plugged twice but was fixed. The bathroom is dirty with long hairs on the floor and a shower that barely drained. You could not see in the poor lighting to shave. The beds were clean and firm. The television had very few english language shows. The lobby is cold and lacking lustre. There is a restaurant but they do not use it anymore..and the staff are in there eating supper late at night. The intenet is not consistent and keeps going off. The maid forgot to clean our room and provide towels on 2 of the 8 nights. Very small room. The price is good but I think it would be better to pay more money and go to large chain to get better location. The location was close to walk to bund but not nice area.
