Ramada by Wyndham Wujiaochang Shanghai

10/25/2025 - I brought my relatives to Ramada Wujiaochang Shanghai for staying here because this hotel has the best price and performance ratio in that area at $78 for a suite, including two buffet breakfast and tax, no tip in China. We enjoy the area for shopping and dining, especially across the hotel, you can find a delicious bowl of vegetable wontons soup at $2.00 (15 RMB) including tax vs. approximately $20 in Los Angeles after Tax + Tip! If you like Chinese medicine for a special area treatment, a 北京同仁堂 is just across the hotel. The hotel has been continuing to renovate guestrooms slowly. Staying at a 9th floor might be your best choice because all guestrooms were remodeled 5 years ago with a Biden Toilet. The subway #10 is just a walking distance from the hotel. If you like to visit the Pudong, you can consider to take a new subway line #18 for just a one-seat ride, but a 20 minutes walk or take a taxi at $2.00 to the subway. 2019 - This is my third time to stay at RAMADA SHANGHAI Wujiaochang. I am glad that the hotel is now going through a remodeling construction phase. The 3rd and 5th floors are at the reconstruction at the moment. The hotel has a all-you-can-eat morning buffet with 30 different items at $7 (50 RMB) per person, which can satisfy most common visitors. A walking distance to the subway line 10 is not far, which usually takes 10 minutes. From the subway station, you can visit a newly opened underground plaza where there are 13 exits.

After the last stay in 10/2019, I came back to stay two nights due to its location and a low price for simplicity. A noticible improvement is its lobby with a newly added Tea House (CHADASHI) and an adjacent Shanghai Authentic Local cuisines restaurant whose Peking duck is excellent at ¥ 288 each while the same duck in Los Angeles is ¥ 950 on average after adding tax and services fee, also known as Tip! Across the street, I enjoyed having a ¥ 14 breakfast at a King Dumping restaurant: Fried Dumplin; Salty tofu paste (咸豆腐浆) and one Tea Egg at ¥2 as well as a wonderful lunch with friends at 新南华大酒店 next to the Ramada Hotel。I will come back again in the future.

Was last here in 2019, before covid. There have been many changes- breakfast buffet is much diminished, fewer choices for drinks, fruit, hot items, no more cooked to order eggs. On the other hand, now noodles and wonton are offered. The flooring in our room has been replaced with planks - a positive change. The printer and work station that was in the lobby have been replaced by massage chairs. The wifi is stable - the best attribute of the hotel. The rooms could use renovation.
