Baron Business Bund Hotel

Room: Got two beds instead of a double. That was really nice! I have never slebt in a harder bed than this one. It’s like sleeping on the floor, totally busted in the morning. There is a lot of noise from the other rooms, the hallway and outside in the room. There are bells ringing from 7 in the morning and every 15 minutes. Even on sundays. Bathroom: not much water in the showers. Kind of hard to wash my hair. Wifi: we had wifi 2 out of 5 days. That really sucked since I had to work and couldn’t. Location: it nice located. Close to the Bund and close to shopping (expensive) and restaurants. Fitness: A room with three mashines. Wouldn’t call it fitness. Breakfast: Chinese breakfast. So we went to Starbucks.

Decent price considering it’s right next to the Bund. Location has not much going on at night so it’s great if you’re not looking for night life other than a walk down the buns to see the lights. Great dumpling place around the corner, 5 minute walk to east banking pedestrian shopping street. Rooms spacious for downtown Shanghai and unlike many hotel rooms in shanghai bathroom does not emit smells from the drains. Service was friendly - no English available but they were able to help us check in and look after luggage for us. Convenience stores in walking distance.

This was a cheap option compared to others nearby, and is very close to the Bund - have to expect it will not be best hotel experience then. Check in and out was a little slow. My room was a good size but no windows. Bed was very hard. Bottled water provided in room. You do have to walk 50m in narrow walkway off main street to find it.
