Conference Exhibition Pudong

I booked and prepaid for this hotel . Although, to be fair to the hotel, I did read the other reviews, which warned me in capital letters about what a hotel it is. Sometimes, I have found that the reviews can be a bit room specific. The check ( on 23rd April 2016) in took about 20 minutes, which could have been acceptable, if there was a waiting. The check-in clerk was busy making phone calls ( unrelated to my check in)> The room looked ok, the problem arose, as soon as took a shower the next day morning, suddenly the bathroom started stinking ( of sewer smell) . Barely 6~7 minutes in my shower the shower cubicle choked and the bathroom was flooded. The front desk was duly informed at 7 am and then I went out for a meeting and came back at noon. I enquired about the repair and was told it would be done within the day, ( when? They had no idea). After shouting a bit, they changed my room. The problem , well existed in this new room as well. Since there was an exhibition going on in Pudong, all other hotel rooms were either taken or very-very expensive, so I had no option but to stay ( that i had paid for my entire stay is a different story). The breakfast ( RMB 15/person) was well chinese in nature only. Not that It was absolutely bad. Just about value for money. To be avoided completely. I am not going to visit again.

It is hard to find anything good to say about this hotel. FIrst room we had smelled of urine. Carpet stained and the shower area disgusting. We moved and second room was just bearable for one night. Internet did not work. Partying and shouting in rooms next door, business men after too much white spirits. Paid deposit on Aus credit card and they could not refund it without a trip to the bank by their accountant and a delay of 15 days. There is no concession to international needs at all. Stay elsewhere.
