Hilton Hongqiao

Great hotel and ideally located for access to Hongqiao train station. I have stayed here a few times over the last few years and always feel at home here when on business. Rooms are modern and spacious, even the basic rooms. The restaurant offers a mix of options, and the food is good. Executive lounge is comfortable and food decent, and all in all I would say this is a great hotel for business. As well as using it as a basing point for travel to other cities, I have also happily based myself here on 3 day stays and worked in the hotel. Will continue to stay here whenever I am in Shanghai.

both the facility and rooms were very average, not well air conditioned, inside the rooms the air conditioner was cold enough but was very humid, all the comforter sheets were damp, had to use a blow dryer to dry it, to be comfortable. I'm beginning to notice a pattern, this being a problem across China, had either has to do with government policies or local businesses trying tricks to save energy while still charging a five-star price. after this experience and trip to China, I will certainly alter my strategy in the future, there there seem to be no need to overpay when they play the same game, not providing the level of comfort you're paying for
