Ramada Plaza Peace

Other reviews have described the conditions. The hotel is quite filthy and the rooms are in very bad shape. A lot of water damage on walls, peeling wallpaper, torn carpets, stains everywhere. That has all been said before. I will add a couple things. I could not find in my 4 days a single person working here who could speak English. Why is this a problem? The room service never showed up or showed up a 6 p.m. one night. There is no mini-bar/snacks in the room (I didnt care about this but it is something to note), there is no room service, I never found the 3 restaurants said to exist at this hotel to be open even during the hours that they were said to be open. There is a gym but it was always locked and when I tried to get them to unlock it (by pantomiming with the staff) one of them eventually showed me her phone with a translation saying "No gym equipment available". I had to have my room keycard reactivated every single day I was here. I think when this hotel opened 30 or so years ago (which by the way appears to be the last time they updated the hotel services binder in your room), it was probably ok. But there are no amenities at all anymore and this hotel has been rode hard and put away wet. So if you want to stay in a dirty, beat up hotel for a couple days go for it. But for not much more money, you can stay in a nice hotel with room service and restaurants and a gym and nice clean rooms and common areas.

This place is poorly managed. Our room had black spotted wallpaper peeling from the walls. The front desk was inattentive, and there was a lack of English skills. Surprising for a so called business and tourist hotel. Breakfast was very disappointing. Cold fried eggs were stacked one on top of another, in a high pile for the taking. Coffee was usually cold. The hot plate either didn’t work, or was kept turned off. One had to wait till they made new coffee and poured it into the carafe. Then everyone would make a “bee line” to get some. Things were not replenished in good time, in the buffet. Problem with the TV resulted in a very impatient person coming to check, only to say it’s fine. Not a place I’d care to stay again. Certainly not 4star. Maybe when they first opened. However, management doesn’t seem interested in the customer. Too bad. There are much better, reasonable places to stay. I’d go elsewhere. Lovely city!

This is definitely not a four star hotel by Western standards. The chairs in the room were stained, the bathroom had mildew on the walls. It smelled like smoke despite being a not smoking room. The location was terrific though, and it is relatively inexpensive. The breakfast buffet was adequate. I expected more of a Ramada. Staff were nice but could not speak English well enough to be helpful.
