It's my fault: I shouldn't have booked 3* after 4*. The hotel is above the 7th floor in an old building in the center of a famous pedestrian street. The location is good. Booked a Superior room with breakfast. The result: a strange old suite with a broken window through which the wind blows, rusty fixtures, I think, from the French Concession. The TV doesn't read flash drive, there are 2 bottles of water, tea, kettle. All in all, if it wasn't for the window, it would be tolerable, but... There's always a BUT! I'm stressing, I booked a room with breakfast. Breakfast didn't turn up, which the receptionist said after my question. Moreover, it was first stated that the website that booked the hotel did not pay for breakfast. Then it was added that the restaurant only operates for lunch and dinner. Anyway, it was unpleasant from the room, and then it was completely polished. Since having breakfast in a Shanghai hotel was a matter of principle. Other than that, it's standard. It was raining, reception was given umbrellas on request. Again, they gave me a map. No complaints against staff.

The location is great, right on nanjing street, a step away from everything and the metro which is direct to all the best attractions. You walk to the Bund and People's Square. The room was large, comfortable bed, good bathroom, reception h24 and speaking English. In short, what more could you want? We had a great time.

The hotel was perfectly clean and very easy to locate even when our maps weren't working. It's in a fantastic location on Nanjing Walking Street, near everything you might need and two great Metro stations. We did have to ask them about the aircon which was pumping heat out even on the lowest setting, but it is set centrally and was set to 'warm' (it was the end of March - everyone was wearing a coat except us!) - so we turned it off and the room cooled nicely. We'd stay there again in a heartbeat. It's not the newest place in the world but it is perfectly decent.
