This hotel offers a very cheap accommodation in the heart of a bustling city, so as expected, the members of staff does not speak much English so your translator app is important. The room is clean for the price, there is one Russian based English news channel, the AC works perfect, and water supply is good (hot/cold). However, breakfast is Chinese, common areas not so great. wifi non existent (at least I was not able to connect to it in my 8 days stay). If all you need is somewhere to lay your head in the centre of town, then this is a good choice.

This hotel is only for chinese people / The breakfast was very very poor and nothing to eat / I asked the manager with two two tomatoes and cucumber and just said no because the hotel cannot afford it .

Let me start by saying I understand that Chinese hotels will not always live up to the standards of Western ones. I have lived here for many years, I get it. By far, this is the worst place I ever stayed. The room was ok, but never cleaned. The garbage was taken out every day, so that was enough. The elevator was broken every day. Not a huge deal, but we have a baby in a stroller. That made our fifth floor room a problem for us. The wifi they advertise does not exist. None of this is a shock for a cheap Chinese hotel. The trouble is the staff. They never replaced the towels in our room. They took the used ones, but never gave back clean ones. I discovered this only after a shower. My wife had to leave our baby in the room with me, too wet to hold him. When she asked for towel (in Chinese, mind you. We both speak Chinese) she was laughed at. It took about 30 minutes to get a towel. When I went to the front desk to register a complaint and ask for a refund due to the poor conditions and frankly false advertising, they laughed. Then they pretended not to speak Chinese. Then they called the manager who told me I was drunk (I was not, hadn't even had a drop) and hung up on me. All told, there are hotels in a similar price range in a similar area. The service must be better at those places though. Go there. Most people in Shanghai were kind and accomodating. This was the sad exception.
