The Yuluxe Sheshan, Shanghai, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel

Shanghai Hotel Choice is my choice for a short leisure trip in Shanghai. As a travel teacher, I usually have higher requirements for the hotel and this hotel meets my requirements. Whether the location, facilities, services, or the neighborhood’s attractions make this experience a great highlight of my trip to Shanghai. First of all, the location of the hotel is undoubtedly a great advantage. Located in the scenic district of Shanghai, away from the bustle of the city, the Choice Hotel is located in a natural environment that gives you a peaceful and relaxing feeling. It is not just a place to stay, it is also a holiday destination. The hotel is about 40 minutes’ drive from the center of Shanghai, making it easy to reach the main attractions while enjoying the tranquillity of the countryside. The facilities of the hotel are very luxurious, with modernity and fine details. The room is spacious and bright with a design that cleverly blends oriental aesthetics and modern style. Every detail highlights the high-end atmosphere. The beds are very comfortable and the intelligent equipment makes the stay more convenient. Special recommendation of the hotel's infinite swimming pool, with a view from the windows, the view of the mountains and lakes of the mountains to the bottom, swimming while enjoying the beautiful view, is simply the perfect choice to relax. In addition, the hotel's dining is also a big highlight. Whether it’s fine Chinese cuisine or Western buffet, it’s varied and tasteful. The restaurant environment is also very elegant, each meal gives me a feeling of relaxation, especially during the holidays, the quality of the food always improves the overall experience. The hotel's spa and gym are also a good place to relax. The spa is very professional and can effectively relieve fatigue during travel. In terms of service, the staff of the hotel is highly professional, friendly and efficient. The details of the services from the front desk to the hotel reflect the consistent high-end standards of the brand. The staff is not only very enthusiastic but also offers personalized recommendations based on guest needs. The surrounding accessories are also convenient. During the pandemic with young toddlers it’s difficult to go anywhere far and being only 40 minutes door to door from downtown Shanghai the Yuluxe Sheshan is an ideal location. The area has lot of theme parks, sculpture garden, and plenty of activities but we barely made it out of the resort given all the on-site amenities. The Squirrel Club kids play area is bigger and better than most kiddie centers found in malls, petting zoo was a real surprise and treat, and 3 restaurants made feeding the family in between activities easy. Rooms have been remodeled since past stays when the property was a Le Meridien, refreshed with a more luxurious and boutique feel. It’s always stressful traveling with toddlers and the front-office manager Dwight really took care of us with preparations and recognition of Bonvoy status really making our stay special. We went in the winter so weren’t able to make use of the private beach and lake but will plan to come back in Spring.

This is a good hotel for a night away from downtown shanghai. There are just enough kids activities for a couple days- a small petting zoo, a video game arcade, small beach for playing sand, and a couple playgrounds. The main downside is mediocre food options. There is one buffet and one Chinese restaurant on property. We are at the buffet which is pricey (but kids under 1.2m eat free). Other restaurants require taking a car off property.
