Hotel Equatorial Shanghai

It is a big hotel, probably established already some time ago, as it has a bit of old style for China (while it would still be considered modern in the rest of the world). The location is in the heart of Jing'an, close to the subway. Rooms are small compared to other hotels but it has a gym and Spa.

Guidu has passed through many times since childhood, and this is the first time it has had the chance to stay. We arrived on a weekend evening and the hotel looked fantastic under the exterior wall lights and elevated landscape lights, a little stunned. The night at Jing'an Temple is particularly quaint and historic in the light. Thanks to the room arranged by Brenda at the front desk, we can see the Pearl of the Orient in the daytime weather. My room is 22nd floor, very beautiful view, clean windows. Rooms are also elegantly furnished and sophisticated, with in-store fitness, spa, swimming and court. On the first and second floors of the hotel you see a lot of art paintings, quite elegant. Of course, it's the hotel's excellent location that deserves the most praise. The three subway lines at the door are convenient to go anywhere, and Jing'an Temple is within easy reach. It is only a ten minute walk from Nanjing Road Huaihai Road. The hotel has a viewing lounge on the 27th floor, large floor-to-ceiling glass windows and an elegant setting, perfect for taking photos. Guests of the Executive Mansion can also enjoy afternoon tea here and enjoy the view from the window while eating. The breakfast buffet is also good, the Chinese and Western variety is very rich, there is also freshly cooked noodle ravioli, the waiter is warm and willing to pour tea and coffee. I had a chance to try the restaurant again, and I heard that the wide-style snack on the second floor was worth eating.

This hotel is awful and if they are 4 stars, then people give stars like candies The hotel has a good location and the view can be nice dependingon the room you have but after that... Well, it's disappointing. We get our first room dirty (check below the bed and you can find one time use shoe, food, old napkin, etc.) The TV is so slow and boring. Kids have nothing. The bathroom is pretty old and sometimes smelly but the worth is that the bath is broken. Finally, the worst is their so called family friendly hotel. Well they say it to look good but they are not even understanding the meaning of what they say. They do have a swimming pool yes. But beware if you are with a child (2/3yo) from the opposite sex, then you can't go shower and change him. The solution of the hotel is: let you child alone or leave to an employee. Yes! To parents who read this comment, do you imagine yourself leaving your 3yo kid go toilet, changing or showering with an employee??? The hotel management (well, tbh they have the title but not the skill) didn't even want to speak. So if you are international travellers, you know Shanghai got plenty of hôtels from 0 to 5 stars and most of them will be better than this fake stuff. Imo, go for jinjiang or international groups. To finish, this hotel is a total secret. No website, no app, no management name, no email. Just a phone number. To the hotel: You are supposed to work in the field of hospitality, you are a shame for people who give there best making this field better. Go look at what others are doing and try to be customer oriented and not only money and mianzi.
