Marriott Shanghai City Centre

I regretted my choice the moment I got here. There was a long wait at check in. That’s ok. And then there was a staff that said we can go to the other check in desk. That caused a stir with the people in the other queue. Then when it was my turn, there was a guy who wanted to not line up and check in, that caused the second argument amongst guests. But Zack at the front desk told the guest to go back in line for which I am grateful. Because his colleague who was floating around the check in area was just creating chaos misguiding guests and not instilling order for the guests. This was by far the worst check in experience I had at Marriott. Got to my room, there was a mosquito in there. Fridge also does not open. This hotel charges the same price as Portman Ritz Carlton but the vibe is way below a RC. I can smell cigarettes. I want to cut my stay short.

No Brainer -rooms size, shower/size, breakfast, central to People’s square, Nanjin rd. (shopping), Yu Gardens & the infamous Bund- team are great & good price with a hopper flight to anywhere in APAC. Ask for Michael the manager- never know what he will show you!

If it was not referred, would not know this hidden value for money 5 star hotel which was conveniently located next to Nanjing Road Walking Street and Huanghe Road for the local restaurants. Most of the landmarks were within 20-30 minutes by walking or taxi ride. Great service as all requests of the Group were met.
