City Hotel Shanghai

It's a nice hotel, but it doesn't offer anything special. On the plus side: - Very friendly staff Rooms are clean. Cleaning, changing linens, replacing consumables - every day. Including two bottles of water. - Buffet breakfasts with a large selection of dishes. Most of them are delicious. There's a free swimming pool. The location is almost perfect. Nearby two metro stations, a quarter with Japlnä cafes, a 24-hour shop opposite, Nanjing Road is half an hour walk away. There are three subway stations to Yunli Gardens. From the downside: The staff don't speak all of English even minimally. - There is virtually nowhere to dry swimwear One robe per room for two people. Basically, it seems that a room other than a bed is designed for one: one chair, a small table, one chair... You can't open the window. There's no fridge. There's a minibar where you can ask something, but it's small. - The pool is always very busy (even at 8am when it opens). The sauna near the pool is colder than the temperature outside in summer. Also of important remarks: the pool is sporty, and therefore you need a cap and a willingness to swim. Basically, a great place to spend nights and go for a walk. In the hotel itself, it hardly makes sense to sit for days (although there is a mahjong club and tea room, but there was no desire to visit them)

Nothing to say, strategic location, room with towels and bathrobes, heated pool, top-notch breakfast.

Stayed at the hotel from 31.01.2025 to 08.01.2026. Nice, comfortable hotel. Great location. Room service is daily. Water without interruption. Breakfast on the 4th floor. Eggs (cooked, fried), toast , jam, cereal, sausages, bacon, porridge , fruit, yogurt, local scones and greens, rice, pasta, tea, coffee, juices. You're not going to stay hungry. The room is warm. The only downside sometimes smelled like sewers... But as I understand it, it's a problem in Shanghai as a whole, as there's also a smell on the street.
