Julu Irene Garden Villa

GREAT hotel. Quiet yet in the middle of some really fun nightlife.... Super clean, super unique, super friendly staff. I upgraded to a penthouse suite and it was well worth it. I've also been upgraded to a better room.

We stayed at the hotel for one night in November. The location is great as it is in the centre of the French Concession district which is one of the nicest areas of Shanghai. It's a very quiet environment it kind of makes you forget that you are staying in such a big and busy city. The hotel consists of 2-3 houses. the bedrooms are very nice, large and comfortable, bathroom is good although our shower was not working very well. I highly recommend it.

I wanted to check in at the hotel at 23:30 desiring to go to bed asap. But their credit card machine did not work for charging a deposit and I had not enough cash to pay the room in advance. I was willing to go and get money from an ATM in the morning, but seeing that I will not run about the city at midnight to find an ATM, the lady at check-in refused to give me a room. She called a taxi and I had to find a hotel with an available room on my own - after midnight in Shanghai where no taxi driver speeks English, not even can read an English address! Such a kind of customer service is not even worthy one point.
