Shanghai Dorure International Hotel

I booked Kingtown hotel Shanghai in the first week of May 2019. The hotel was a disapointment. It was pricey but the service was pathetic. The breakfast was totally Chinese and unsuited for foreigners. The quality of food in the buffet breakfast was substandard. The rooms were noisy and staff unattentive. The corridors especially carpets were dusty and ugly. The surroundings of the hotel are actually a shanty town , a slum. The refrigerator in the room did not work. There was a banging noise every hour outside the windows of my room on the 9th floor. On my complaint, the staff did not pay any attention. The hotel is located in a street with cheap hotels and establishments in the surruoundings. I will never stay in this hotel.

Located at the inner alley of main road, not easily visible. Kind of spacious room with basic amenities. very unpleasant front desk with no greetings and smile at all time. served average breakfast from 6am-8:30am daily.

Stayed here for 2 nights. I arrived at Shanghai from a high speed train from Beijing. My guide was waiting for me at the Shanghai train station for my transfer to the hotel. It was already midnight when I checked in at the property. Front office staff is not friendly. There is no lobby lounge in this hotel. The are 2 lounge chairs & a small round table beside the front office counter. Elevator has noisy doors & dirty floor. Hotel room is clean with comfortable beds. Wifi is weak. TV stations are all in Chinese. The window glass panels of the room are very dusty )see photos) The toilet & bathroom looks newly renovated. Complete set of toiletries are provided and replenished daily. Seven Plus body wash & shampoo in bottled dispensers are inside the bathroom aside from the fresh & new bathroom towels. Breakfast is at the M floor, Nobody assisted me to my table because was no reception staff when I entered the dining hall. While I was having my breakfast, a lady reception staff )see photo) suddenly asked for my room number. This lady staff is strict. The food is just average with choices of Chinese & some western foods.
