Shanghai Haiyatt Hotel

I booked a week here for the China National Holiday. The reason I specifically booked the hotel was for the spa, swimming pool, gym, and restaurant. All of which were closed for the holiday! This wasn’t disclosed at any point when I made the booking, and was the whole purpose of my visit. I had to ask what the opening hours were and that’s when they told me it was closed. They also wanted a 2000 yuan deposit for the room, although booking.com said no deposit was required. In the end they refunded the money for the room back onto my card. I had to argue to get this back. They were totally unhelpful in every single way.

Interesting name for a hotel but should not be be mistaken for a more illustrious global brand. The room I stayed in, 1707 on the 7th floor was clean and comfortable and had everything I needed. Most people who stay here will have business or meetings nearby which makes activity here, like breakfast, brisk. Perfectly adequate for a short stay.

It's a 3.5 stars level hotel. the decoration, rooms, service are just normal, everything is fine; but they have a swimming pool, club house, ballrooms, 1 hotpot, 1 Chinese restaurant, 1 bar, massage service...etc. The location actually is quite good, 15mins taxi to Hongqiao Airport, but the district is so quite cause it's actually in a residential area. Finally, the price is reasonable around 600RMB.
