The receptionist is very rude. They don't switch on the AC. On requesting, they advice to open the windows and sleep. Extremely uncomfortable.over priced compared to other similar hotels. On the whole I didn't like the experience

It is not a luxury hotel. By western standards not even as clean or nice as a Holiday Inn or a Hampton Inn. But you're not in North American so you need to adjust your expectations, especially at this price point. It is clean (by Chinese standards) no bugs that I saw and located steps to the metro. It is in a more Chinese area not the main tourist area so there is limited English signage and food options in the area. However there is a Starbucks in the lobby and they do speak enough english to get your coffee. There is also a restaurant onsite that serves traditional chinese food. But they don't speak english so be prepared to point and smile alot. I had a king bed room. The bed was actually very comfortable. Quite firm with nice duvet and pillows. I slept well every night. The bathroom and rest of room were just ok. Nothing awful but nothing great either. There are western outlets available for your electronics so an adaptor is not needed. The heat was a problem as it could not be adjusted and it was quite warm in the room. The window opens which helps but there are lots of restaurants nearby and the smell of the cooking was quite overwhelming for the first few nights till I got used to it. Also, even though the hotel is supposed to be non smoking there was a constant strong smoke smell blowing through the vents. To the point where I just tunred off the fans and let it be cold because I was seriously getting sick from the smoke. Wifi was free but unreliable at times. All in all it was ok. Location works for business so I would stay there again for that but not for a personal vacation to the area. For that you're better to go over by the Bund.

Location: Used this hotel as part of a much larger group of about 35+ the good thing about this hotel is that its located 2 mins walk from Jiashan station which makes it easy to commute. its located about ten minutes walk in the opposite from a shopping mall which has a lot of non-traditional (i.e western) restaurants. Food. Managed one breakfast on arrival from the hotel, which I wasn't too fond off, but the selection of foods was decent. The remainder of the trip I had a coffee and muffin from the starbucks. see above for local restaurants^^^ Price: n/a as this was booked for a large group. though i think better value could have been obtained elsewhere Rooms: nothing too special, the bathroom had a slight damp smell. Service: front dest had no english speaking staff, so you might want to top up on some basic manadarin. the starbucks employees understood some basic level english. laundry service is really good. excellent wifi overall: 3/5* decent. if you really have to scrimp on your budget, then yes. If not, you're better spending a lil extra elsewhere.
