Chengdu Xiang Yu Hotel

We needed a pitstop for the night as we were flying out the next day. The hotel itself is very clean and the rooms are most comfortable as are the beds and lovely clean bedding. Personally I felt the staff left a little to be desired as they were not particularly friendly or helpful, but then at the end of the day we were just stopping over and we were not there to be friends with the members of staff. It served its purpose as a convenient stay close to the airport.

I chose to stay at this hotel due to proximity to Chengdu Airport and the offer of a free shuttle bus service for an early morning flight. Positives - comfortable warm bed (after second doona added at 2.00 am) - airport shuttle - friendly staff (beyond reception desk) Negatives - argument with taxi driver who refused short fare to take me to the hotel (not walking distance from airport station). Ended up paying double the meter fare. - very limited meal offerings - Stinking hotel bathroom - mold, mold, mold!!!

This hotel was provided to me from Air China on my recent trip to china. Both ways going and coming I was put on this hotel. The hotel staff came to pick me up within 10 minutes at the airport. But staff were very rude. They never touched or bothered to help with my luggage. While flying in, the hotel staff upon arrival opened the door of the van carelessly and my suitcase with my computer fell off. Upon asking him to be careful , he said sorry I just opened the door and didn't bother to apologize or pick my luggage. I had to check in get my keys and lug all my bags myself upto the 4th floor myself. Very not a hotel style hospitality. I was 10 minutes late for breakfast, and staff even before I entered the restaurant, asked me to leave and said there's no breakfast. So I dont like this hotel. Anyone can have great rooms and amenities, but people make up its true hospitality. This hotel did not. I was in rooms that was facing the main road and I could hear heavy construction vehicles all night.
