Green Land

My team and I stayed at the Greenland Hotel for 7 nights in August for a business trip. The location of the hotel is good and it is walkable distance to the city center, where you can find lots of restaurants and stores. Taxis are also easy to catch. Food at the Rainbow restaurant was also very nice. The one thing we are all very frustrated about was the Wi-Fi. It was so weak that we could barely send a whatsapp text message! It made our lives at the hotel almost miserable because we couldn't communicate with our family back home. I don't think it is just as, because it seems to happen on every floor. Serious improvement is needed on this matter.

As part of a tour we were booked in at this hotel. I think I would describe it as clean and comfortable but very tired in appearance. There were several steps leading up to the entrance without handholds but a porter available to help with luggage. In the room we played with the light switches to find out what lit what for some time and the safety light on all night by the bathroom, was maybe helpful for those night trips but not so helpful if you were trying to sleep on the side right by it! The shower was not brilliant but after some comments to the right people it was dramatically improved. Breakfast was not a great experience unless you ate Chinese style. The view from the window was of a very depressed area of tall buildings. Only two of the four lifts were working so travelling up and down to the rooms could take some time.

Organised as part of a tour. Corner room on 30th floor, spacious and lots of natural light. Able to open windows which was needed because air conditioner was stuck on 26 degrees for the whole time and wouldn't budge despite setting lower temperature on control panel. Bath/shower combo which had a high step, and not very functional as shower managed to flood bathroom despite our best efforts in positioning the (old) shower curtain. Bed mattress was hard. Breakfast offering was best we had in China although beware that seating is limited in peak times and you will have people claim unoccupied chairs on your table. Staff were pleasant to deal with. In summary, ok to stay for a few nights.
